Kolar Gold Fields

Kolar gold fields is in Karnataka, in Kolar district, near Bangalore.
Very near to Andhra and TN borders
Mining was stoppped in 2003 due to reducing deposits.
KGF played an important role in prosperity of the British empire. The British refered to KGF as "Little England" due to its temperate weather.
Gold found in Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro could be from KGF as the impurities include 11% silver concentration which is found only in KGF
